FRANK'S BIO

Frank L Menzies is a world renowed and gifted musician. 

Mr. Menzies has played and directed all over the world with some of the most talented musicians of the 21st century

​

 

FRANK L. MENZIES is the former Director of Instrumental Music at Jones College Prep in Chicago, IL.  He attended Howard University, Vandercook College of Music, Governor's State University, Chicago State University and the American College of Education.

​

He performed on multiple WNUA airings with Roxanne Stevenson's R.S.V.P.. He recorded with Jon Faddis, Ron Haynes, Michael Houston and many others. He toured China, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland and the U.S.  He has conducted award winning instrumental ensembles in England, Bahamas, Mexico, Iceland and many others.  He was Illinois District IMEA guest conductor in '03.  He was Illinois All-State Presenter in '04.  He was a 2004 Golden Apple Nominee, and a 2005 Suave Award nominee.  He was, in '05, also conferred an Honorary Commission from the U.S. Congressional Leadership Council.  In addition, he is former Associate Conductor of the Chicago All-city Youth Orchestra and former Principal Conductor for Chicago All-City Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Menzies has performed as a musician for Oprah Winfrey's "The Color Purple," the stage spectacular "Dreamgirls" and MUCH MORE!
